Genitals on fire
After an Australian woman, Rajini Narayan, suspected that her husband was
having an affair, she set his genitals on fire on December 8, 2008. According to
Prosecutor Lucy Boord, Narayan said, "I just wanted to burn his penis so it
belongs to me and no one else." Narayan's husband, Satish Narayan, died
from the injuries sustained in the incident last week.
Masked bank robber waits turn
On Thursday, January 8, a bank in Stow, Ohio was robbed by man wearing a
black ski mask. The robber, Feliks Goldshtein, waited in line at the bank before
robbing it. Goldshtein ignored requests to remove the mask while in the bank;
upon approaching the teller he demanded money and showed a toy gun. After a
brief car chase, Goldshtein was apprehended.
Man wants kidney or money
A New York surgeon wants his estranged wife to give him his kidney back, or
1.5 million dollars. Dr. Richard Batista has been involved in four years of
divorce proceedings. He says that he is frustrated with the negotiations.
Dawnell Batista, Dr. Batista's estranged wife, received the kidney in 2001. Dr.
Batista alleges that his wife began to have an affair eighteen months to two
years after she received the new kidney.
Inmate eats own eye
Andre Thomas, a Texas inmate, pulled out his eye and ate it. Thomas was
convicted of killing his infant daughter, as well as his estranged wife and
their young son. Thomas took the hearts of the victims to his home and then
threw them away. Thomas is on death row but does not have an execution date.
